VISTA Wins Army National Guard Work in Montana, Utah and Ohio --...
- VISTA Technology Services, Inc. (VISTA) was recently awarded three contracts to provide support, training and analysis on real property- and logistics-oriented computer systems for the Montana, Ohio and Utah Army National Guards. The contract wins are a continuation of the company's work in the Army's Real Property Planning and Analysis System (RPLANS) and Army Stationing and Installation Plan (ASIP). These databases support the budgeting of Army facilities sustainment, base operations, and military construction. 'Through our contract with the Office of the Assistant Chief of Staff for Installation Management (OACSIM), VISTA is the current provider for Army RPLANS support' explains Hal McDonald, Program Director for Operations in the Washington, DC region. 'Our consultants are experts on the Real Property and Master Planning process and have intimate knowledge of the actual data, how it is used and how that data brings value back to the users.' VISTA employs consultants who have end-to-end knowledge of the Real Property and Master Planning processes as well as a thorough understanding of OACSIM enterprise systems and interactions. These subject matter experts will coordinate with Ohio Army National Guard personnel with the primary mission to update the Army Stationing and Installation Plan. The Army Stationing and Installation Plan (ASIP) is the authoritative database that reflects the authorized planning population for Army Installations. Populations found in ASIP impact facility utilization in the Real Property Inventory and are used in the RPLANS system as a basis for unit allowances, requirements and military construction. 'The update cycles of these various systems are spread throughout the year and issues stemming from data in one system can have significant impact on the others,' said McDonald. 'The systems also require trained and experienced operators to ensure that the overall processes work together and that data in the various systems remains consistent and accurate.' Training is the primary mission of the Utah Army National Guard contract. In addition to various user-level courses and a 'hands-on' refresher training, VISTA will demonstrate the functionality of it's new web-based RPLANS application, currently in development. 'We are the only organization with intimate knowledge of the upcoming WEB RPLANS,' noted McDonald. 'And, VISTA employs Army Reservists with over 25-years experience in facilities operations, planning and simulation modeling. For these reasons, we believe VISTA is the most qualified to provide Montana's Army National Guard with both desktop analysis of the State's system and provide comprehensive 'hands-on' training.'
